It all started with a trip to The Royal Norfolk Show where we first saw the Border Leicesters up close and we loved the look of them.

Lockdown hit in 2020 and we couldn’t get the sheep out of our minds so we came up with the idea of becoming Border Leicester sheep farmers and so our journey began.

We purchased land and whilst waiting for the grass to grow, we were able to acquire even more land. We joined the Society of Border Leicester Sheep Breeders and then another crazy idea hit, let’s not just breed sheep but show them too! Many fellow Border breeders were really helpful and inspired us to press ahead.

Our aim is to promote Border Leicesters and their incredible breed strength and quality stock whilst expanding our flock.

As first time sheep farmers, we quickly found that our combined skills were hugely complimentary. Steve’s background is engineering and travels the world in his role. Rachel has worked with horses for almost all of her life. She is a British Horse Society Professional Coach and despite not being a fan of sheep to start with, she now LOVES them!

Ivan, inspired by the business, is now studying Level 3 Animal Tech at Riseholme College with a specialism of sheep and wanting to move into commercials in the future.
